SURGE is the drum and bass brand of Macclesfield DJ REME-D, better known in the town for the free entry fundraisers she has run since 2018, and this day party on Saturday 5 September follows the same open door approach: no ticket, 18 and over, DJs from 1pm through to 1am. She is joined by STONY, Mull-E, Rubez and B-52, all regulars on the small club circuit that links Macclesfield and Manchester, with Mull-E bringing the party leaning D&B of his North West residencies and Rubez fresh from Katalyst nights at Stage and Radio. The Old Millstone is a proper pub rather than a club, with pool tables and sport on in the back room, so expect locals mixed in with the ravers. It stands directly opposite Macclesfield railway station, which makes the last train to Manchester or Stoke an easy call.
