The Concorde 2

286A Madeira Drive, Brighton, BN2 1EN

Concorde 2 occupies the Madeira Shelter Hall, a Grade II listed Victorian building on the seafront below Marine Parade which served as a tea room, then a bikers' haunt in the 1960s, then an arcade, before it reopened as a music venue around 2000. The main room holds roughly 600, with a raised stage, pillars down the sides and a sound and lighting rig that touring artists and regulars rate among the best on the south coast. At the back, a second bar room relays the stage on a projector screen through its own smaller PA. Bass bookings lean towards heritage and underground fare: It's A Jungle Out There with J:Kenzo and Coco Bryce, Rinse FM showcases fronted by Flowdan, and drum and bass classics all dayers. On sold out nights it is hard to get back to the front after a bar run, so pick a spot early, and on hot nights staff open the side doors to cool the room.

The Concorde 2 has 2 upcoming drum & bass event(s) on DNBRAVE.
