Lakota has traded from a converted brewery on Upper York Street in Stokes Croft since 1989, and it is woven into Bristol's jungle and drum and bass story: plenty of the genre's biggest names played formative gigs here in the 1990s. The building is a warren of rooms over three levels, with four in the main club, including the main room with its raised DJ booth and the smaller Nest, plus two more in the adjoining old Coroner's Court and an enclosed courtyard. D&B and jungle still lead the calendar alongside psytrance, garage and hard techno, and different rooms often run different genres on the same night, so check where your act is billed. Expect a loud main room, a packed courtyard smoking area and ID checks at the bar for anyone who looks under 25. The same team opened the 220 capacity Moon Club on the site in 2025.
