On Hoxton Square, Colours took over the old Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen and was reworked with input from Village Underground and EartH, two other East London venues. The building is laid out as a horseshoe of rooms: a Live Room of around 250 to 300 with a raised stage, a main bar of similar size, a smaller green room and a karaoke room. Week to week it hosts R&B and hip hop nights, LGBTQ+ club collectives such as Hungama and Pxssy Palace, drag cabaret and up-and-coming live acts. Drum and bass has a foothold too: G Dub's Back in Business brings veteran selectors Sub Zero and Original Sin to the Live Room. Reviewers praise the sound and the sightlines for a room this size, and Old Street station is a few minutes' walk away.
