Basement 45 has run since 2009 in the vaulted cellars at 8 Frogmore Street, just off Park Street in central Bristol, on the site of the old Mandrake. It holds roughly 300 across two dance floors and two bars, with low ceilings that keep the sound close and the room hot. A typical drum and bass bill puts D&B and jungle in the main room and 140 in room two, and past guests run from LTJ Bukem to Skream and Eats Everything. The door sticks firmly to advertised last entry times, and reviewers report being turned away late even with valid tickets, so arrive well before the cut off. By day, the same rooms host DJ lessons and workshops.
