Part of the old Royal Institution building on Seel Street, the Arts Club was redesigned and relaunched in September 2023 with two rooms: a Victorian-style theatre with a balcony and a smaller loft space. Most of its calendar belongs to touring indie bands, day parties and club nights, but on Fridays Bass Face takes over with drum and bass, 140 and grime in a 360 degree, Boiler Room style setup that puts the DJ in the middle of the crowd. Bass Face nights run on free tickets that do run out, and the listings flag the final batch, so claim one early. Seel Street is in the Ropewalks, a short walk from Liverpool Central, with plenty of bars around it for a drink beforehand.
