Jumpin Jack Frost
Genres: Jungle, Drum & Bass
Jumpin Jack Frost is Nigel Thompson, born in Brixton in 1967, who came to drum and bass from sound systems and rare groove and has been DJing since 1989. In 1993 he co-founded V Recordings with Bryan Gee, the label that signed Roni Size, DJ Die and Krust, and a year later he started its Philly Blunt offshoot. Burial, recorded in 1994 as Leviticus for Philly Blunt, became a jungle anthem and reached number 6 on the UK dance singles chart. Through the rave years he played Dreamscape, Telepathy, The Edge and One Nation, held a show on Kiss 100 until 2001 and later co-hosted a drum and bass programme on Mi-Soul with DJ Bailey. His autobiography, Big, Bad and Heavy, came out in 2017, and he speaks openly about mental health in the scene.
Jumpin Jack Frost has 7 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
