Born Gareth Hue in the London commuter town of Luton, Inja -- short for Importance Never Justifies Anything -- spent over a decade honing his craft as a poet, spoken word performer, and workshop facilitator before making his mark in drum and bass. That background in language and storytelling gave him a distinctive edge when he picked up the mic, combining razor-sharp bars with a warmth and wit that set him apart from the crowd. His versatility across hip-hop, jungle, reggae, and drum and bass caught the ear of Hospital Records, who signed him as the first MC in the label's history. Inja quickly proved his worth with seminal tracks "Blow Them Away" and "Flashlight," and became the certified mic controller of choice for A-list DJs including Zed Bias, Randall, Holy Goof, and S.P.Y. His second album Smile and Wave, produced by Whiney, featured collaborations with DJ Marky, Eva Lazarus, DRS, and Cleveland Watkiss. As the frontman of Kings of the Rollers alongside Serum, Voltage, and Bladerunner, he helped the supergroup win Best Album at the national Drum and Bass Awards for their self-titled debut. Known as the worlds smiliest artist, Inja brings an infectious positivity to everything he touches. Whether commanding a festival crowd with Kings of the Rollers or delivering intimate spoken word, his energy is unmistakable. He has established himself as one of the most important MCs in modern drum and bass -- a true talisman of the UK underground music scene.

Inja has 2 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
