Hybrid Minds
Genres: Liquid
Josh White and Matt Lowe came together as Hybrid Minds in 2012, though the pair had been running record labels and collaborating for several years prior. Based in the UK, they quickly rose to prominence through early tracks like "Meant to Be" and "Touch," which showcased their gift for combining smooth rolling basslines with ethereal atmospheres and emotive songwriting. In 2016, they founded Hybrid Music, their own label, giving them a dedicated platform to release both their own productions and music from artists they admire. Their discography spans three studio albums -- Mountains (2014), Elements (2017), and Tides (2024) -- each one expanding their sonic palette while staying true to the liquid drum and bass sound they have made their own. Their productions blend lush vocal features, warm piano motifs, and meticulously crafted basslines into tracks that connect on an emotional level rarely achieved in electronic music. They have become the defining act of the liquid subgenre for a new generation of listeners. The numbers tell a remarkable story: Hybrid Minds sold out Alexandra Palace in just 24 hours, moved out Printworks in four hours, and shifted every ticket for their Wembley Arena TIDES show in 48 hours. Their headline Brixton Academy show sold out six months before the date. These are venue capacities that most drum and bass acts could only dream of filling, yet Hybrid Minds do it with stunning regularity. They have proven beyond doubt that emotional, melodic drum and bass can command the biggest stages in the country.
