Genres: Jungle, Drum & Bass
DJ Die is Daniel Kausman, born in 1972 and raised in Barnstaple, Devon, before moving to Bristol in 1985. Early house and hardcore with Jody Wisternoff as Tru-Funk and Sub Love led to meeting Roni Size at Replay Records in 1992, and Agility came out on V Recordings in 1993. He co-founded Full Cycle with Roni Size, Krust and Suv, staying until 2007, and his Music Box gave its title to the label's first compilation in 1996. He played in Reprazent, the Mercury Prize winning Roni Size outfit behind New Forms, and in Breakbeat Era on XL. Key records include Jitta Bug, Drop Bear and Clear Skyz on Full Cycle, Slide Away, Special Treat and Autumn on V, and the Cross Collaborations album with Clipz on Redlight (2005). He runs Clear Skyz and Gutterfunk, a multi-genre label, and his extended sets range well beyond drum and bass.
