Benny Page
Genres: Jungle
Born in 1982 in the UK, Benny Page discovered jungle at the age of 14 and began making beats on his father's PC just a year later, inspired by formative releases from A Zone and Nu Blood. His father's varied musical tastes -- spanning reggae, soul, and beyond -- planted the seeds for what would become one of the most distinctive sounds in the genre. By 2002 he was releasing music on South London label Cutterz Choice, and his 2004 track "Sneaker Pimp" earned a spot on John Peel's legendary Radio 1 playlist. The real breakthrough came when Shy FX signed him to Digital Soundboy in 2006. His anthem "Turn Down the Lights" announced him as a serious player, and a string of seminal ragga jungle cuts followed that firmly established his reputation. Benny later founded his own label, High Culture Recordings, as a home for his broad musical vision spanning dancehall, reggae, jungle, and drum and bass. What sets Benny Page apart is his seamless fusion of Jamaican musical heritage with drum and bass production. His tracks carry the warmth and swing of reggae and dancehall, shot through with the energy and precision of jungle breakbeats. Collaborations with dancehall royalty including Beenie Man, Spice, and Popcaan have further broadened his reach, making him one of the most exciting artists bridging Caribbean and UK bass music culture.
Benny Page has 2 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
